W+K x Nike — Air Max Day

IKEBANA INSTALLATIONS TO CELEBRATE AIR MAX DAY. We partnered with flower stylist, Hanadorobou, to create arrangements inspired by iconic Nike sneakers drumrolling Wieden + Kennedy’s arrival in the heart of Sneaker hotspot Harajuku. Classic silhouettes such as the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 180, Air Max 95, Air Max 97, Air Max TN were interpreted for the project.

Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement. A spiritual process that aims to communicate the essence of a flower, making the invisible, visible. With the Air Max 1, legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield also made the invisible, visible: the famous bubble was born to highlight the Air Max technology. Personal project with Max Cameron & Shohei Kawada. Photographed by Robert Kirsch.
